Hamburg Sea Devils bring back D'Angelo Fulford into the ELF

After their third loss of the season, the Hamburg Sea Devils have decided to change their quarterback. Javarian Smith will leave the team. Instead of him, the Sea Devils are bringing back D’Angelo Fulford to the European League of Football. Fulford began this season as the quarterback for the Raiders Tirol. He played the first two games for the Tirol franchise, but was released after their loss to the Vienna Vikings.

In the two games he played for the Raiders this season, Fulford threw for 243 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran for 46 rushing yards. With these achievements and skills, Fulford is expected to bring stability and success back to the Hamburg Sea Devils.

"I've watched him grow up since he was seven years old"

The Hamburg franchise's officials are showing optimism regarding the rest of the season and the quarterback change.

Head Coach Matt Johnson has a special connection to Hamburg's new number one: "D’Angelo and I are from the same city, so I know what he's capable of. I've watched him grow up since he was seven years old. I've seen him play Highschool and College football, and followed his journey through the professional leagues. What he brings will greatly benefit our team. As a passer and leader, he will bring exactly what we need. It's the right move for our team at this time."

Hamburg Sea Devils Sports Director, Miguel Boock, is confident about the new addition to the team: "In terms of player type, D'Angelo is similar to Javarian. He is a mobile quarterback, but he brings a completely different level of experience. He has played in the CFL and USFL for a while, which means he has a different approach compared to Javarian. With Matt having a direct connection to D'Angelo, it opens up completely different possibilities. I am pleased that he is joining the team and am excited to see how he will move us forward. We are convinced that D'Angelo is the right quarterback for the team and that he will have an immediate impact."

D'Angelo Fulford: A top-tier QB

D’Angelo Fulford, born on September 27th, 1997, in Miramar, Florida, is known for his exceptional skills and leadership on the football field. He started at Miramar High School and then played College football at the University of Mount Union. There, he led the Purple Raiders to a Division III National Championship and earned multiple awards, including the OAC Bob Packard Offensive Back of the Year. Fulford's College career contains over 9,000 passing yards and 134 touchdowns, highlighting his status as a top-tier quarterback.

With his proven track record, Fulford is poised to bring the Hamburg Sea Devils back on course. First tough test: The Sea Devils will host Rhein Fire on Sunday in Hamburgs Volksparkstadion (16:25 CET).
