Neugebauer rings the bell: "Constantly working on becoming a better player"
There may be a new star on the wide receiver horizon in the ELF. After a dominant perfomance against the Prague Lions, where he put up 13 catches, 234 receiving yards and three touchdowns, Jakob Neugebauer (Hamburg Sea Devils) has put the spotlight on himself.
In an interview, he talks about sore muscles, his great game against the Lions and chemistry with quarterback Javarian Smith.
Jakob Neugebauer: We definitely had to work hard for the win, in which we made it difficult for ourselves. Taking the win in the end was all the more important and that makes me forget the sore muscles.
Neugebauer: Once we found the matchups we liked, we never looked back. Javarian Smith - our quarterback - trusted me with perfect passes and I'm happy that our connection works so well.
Neugebauer: Javarian is the leader we absolutely need. There is still lots of room for improvment for our team. On this path, Javarian leads us and makes everyone around him better.
I am consistently working on becoming a better player. It's motivating to see that this is slowly becoming apparent and makes me believe in this process.
I expect a tough game against Frankfurt, we have to give it our best to beat them. The bye week is perfect to prepare for that - lots of tape watching and training.
