Week 2 brought us eight games filled with touchdowns. Three franchises played their first match of the season, shaking up the power rankings.

Back on track

After losing to the Wrocław Panthers, the Berlin Thunder got back on track with a 48-17 win over the Prague Lions. The American trio of defensive star Kyle Kitchens, Alex Spillum, and Aaron Jackson led the way. Jackson, with over 270 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns after two weeks, was unstoppable for the Lions' defense, scoring twice. On defense, Kyle Kitchens was a powerhouse, contributing a fumble return touchdown and a key block for Alex Spillum’s pick-six. Prague needs to address their defense, having allowed over 30 points again, before their game against the Munich Ravens.

First bump on the playoff road

The Wrocław Panthers lost to the Stuttgart Surge in a high-scoring game. Reilly Hennessey, possibly in his final season, showcased his skills with over 520 total yards. Key targets were Yannick Mayr and Louis Geyer. Mayr made big plays, amassing 199 receiving yards and outplaying the Wrocław DBs. While the Panthers scored 34 points, their defense allowed too many points. They've given up 83 points in the first two games, despite having a talented roster with several stars.

First win in "El Clásico"

For the first time in ELF history, two Spanish franchises faced off. It was the first ELF game for the Madrid Bravos, who showed their potential with a 42-12 win over the Barcelona Dragons. Known faces from the ELF, quarterback Chris Helbig and wide receiver Willie Patterson, proved to be a dangerous duo for future opponents.

Too big to handle

The Battle of Austria promised excitement, especially with the Vienna Vikings' slow start giving hope to the Raiders Tirol. However, the Vikings remained the kings of Austria with a 27-6 win. The Raiders' 177 total yards weren't enough to challenge the Vikings. Quarterback Ben Holmes added three more touchdowns, boosting his impressive stats.

Excitement in the Rhein-Main derby

The game had everything: trick plays, big plays, touchdowns, and interceptions – simply great football. The Frankfurt Galaxy hosted the 15-game undefeated Rhein Fire. The Düsseldorf franchise entered the game confidently, but their last game against the Cologne Centurions revealed weaknesses that Frankfurt hoped to exploit. Using trick plays and bold moves, Frankfurt stayed close until the fourth quarter. A big play from Jadrian Clark to Harlan Kwofie on fourth down followed by a field goal sealed the 31-20 win for Fire.

While most results were decisive, it's clear that each week brings quality football and exciting matchups. We look forward to more thrilling games in the coming weeks.
