Turnover battle decides "Battle of Austria"

"We prepared well for this game", commented Raiders Tirol coach Jim Herrmann, reflecting on his team's performance against Vienna Vikings. "However, turnovers proved costly for us today. When you lose the turnover battle, it's tough to come out on top."

Therefore, the turnover battle decided the latest episode of the "Battle of Austria". The Raiders endured a tough 19-27 loss to the Vikings at home.

"We made too many mistakes"

Throughout the match, both teams fought fiercely, with the Raiders' defense showcasing resilience at crucial moments to keep the game within reach. But that wasn't enough. Defensive End Berend Grube noted: "We knew, we needed to execute our game plan against the Vikings. Today, we didn't make the plays we needed and made too many mistakes."

Nevertheless, Wide Receiver Adrian Platzgummer expressed optimism looking ahead: "Next week, we need to show that we can play all four quarters. The support from the fans was incredible today, and that means a lot to us."

Tirol now turns its focus to refining their strategy and addressing key areas for improvements as they prepare for their matchup against the next tough opponent: Stuttgart Surge (Sunday, 13:00 CET).
